gbo datacomp in a partner network — strong on the market together
Overview with MES!
gbo datacomp works with leading institutions such as the VDMA, the VDI and others to promote MES and create more transparency in companies. Our goal is to support companies in digitizing and implementing Industry 4.0.
“Quadrika” stands for quality data-based risk assessment for industry 4.0. The aim of the project is a “Quality Data Module” that provides data-based recommendations for risk reduction in production. It is particularly aimed at the needs of small and medium-sized companies. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and the Machine Tool Laboratory of the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, gbo datacomp is involved in this project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, in collaboration with the DLR Project Management Agency. You can read more about the research project on our blog.
Some talk about an MES “out of the box”, others talk about an MES “plug and play”, meaning the same thing: an MES solution tailored to the needs of SMEs, which can be implemented easily and cost-effectively and meets the requirements of SMEs. With a compact solution like GBomes Smart, the goals of a smart factory are even easier to achieve and digital manufacturing is no longer a major challenge.
Manufacturing execution systems (MES) for monitoring machines and systems are now standard for many companies. Factors such as transparency and traceability are decisive for competition. However, SMEs are still in their infancy when it comes to using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). A purchase is worthwhile not only to optimize manufacturing processes. For SMEs, MES solutions are a first and important step towards Industry 4.0.
gbo datacomp gives impetus to the definition of uniform logical interfaces in MES solutions at machine levelIn recent years, they have become an important topic in production-related IT. MES ensure continuous horizontal and vertical integration and are therefore a link between the shop floor, machine controls and company management level systems. There are hardly any clear definitions of which systems perform which functions. And we are working on this together with the VDMA!
Standardizing interfaces is particularly important in order to create consistent and trouble-free communication within companies. In particular, the connection of proprietary machines poses major challenges for many SMEs, and standardized interfaces help with this.
